Lotus Flower ~ American Yellow

This lotus has the scientific name as Nelumbium Lutea and American yellow lotus or water chinquapin as common name. The foliage has featured of large, round, parasol-like and waxy green with the size of 12 to 18 inches. There are nut-like fruit after blomming which imbedded in the flat surface of turbinate.
This flower has an appearance of large, cupped and yellow colour of blossom which it has the size of 8 to 12 inches diameter. Once it blomming, it open at the morning and close during night time each day. There are able to bloom 3 days.
If you plant to have this for you water garden, there are good news to tell you that this flower has fragrant, it smell nice if you have this. This plant able to grow well at shallow water level, which it suitable for small pond or container.
