Kaufmanniana tulips were developed from the Tulipa kaufmanniana species, which is from Turkestan. This category of tulips has an alternative name of water lily tulips.
These water lily tulips are very small, the average height of this about six (6) inches tall. The blossom of water lily tulips is single cup-shaped flower with six (6) pointed and slightly reflexed petals.
This flower would open fully until almost completely flat on sunny day. A fully open of this tulips look like a water lily, as a result there are an alternative name of water lily tulip.
