Griegii tulips were developed from the Tulipa griegii species, which is from Turkestan. These categories of tulips are fairly short, but the blossom is large in proportion to the plant as a whole.
The blossom open fully and wide under the sun, this could produce a large bloosom which could be more than 5” (12cm) in diameter. This blossom are unique, the outside petals are flare outwards while the inside petals stand upright.
The foliage of these tulips is wavy edges and usually pattern with sports or stripped with purple. This tulips are fairly short, there are from 6 to 16 inches, the average is 10” (25cm). Because of this, this is an ideal for rock gardens and containers.
In addition, these tulips are perennial well and it would blossom well for several years. They could gradually multiply year after year when undisturbed.
